A walk-off single from Jeremy Owens brought home the winning run for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (48-54) in a 4-3 victory over the Long Island Ducks (50-51) in 11 innings at Regency Furniture Stadium on Wednesday.

Owens was solid at the plate for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Owens went 3-6 and drove in one. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the first and eleventh innings.

Richard Mercado racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He singled in the second inning and tripled in the third inning.

David Jones pitched seven innings and allowed three earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out three.

Jim Ed Warden improved to 4-7 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Chris Flinn ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
