The Camden Riversharks get on top of the Bridgeport Bluefish early but can't hang on in 3-2 loss

The Camden Riversharks (47-51) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 3-2 to the Bridgeport Bluefish (46-52) on Sunday.

The Bridgeport Bluefish took the lead in the sixth inning.

Shea Hillenbrand reached base two times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning.

Julio DePaula pitched lights out for the Bridgeport Bluefish. DePaula held the Camden Riversharks hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Eduardo Perez had a hot bat for the Camden Riversharks. Perez went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first, third, and seventh innings.

Matt Pike got the win, running his season record to 2-5. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

Blake King ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
