The Lancaster Barnstormers (62-35) outlasted the Sugar Land Skeeters (44-54) on Friday after four lead changes, squeaking out a 9-7 win at Constellation Field, Sugar Land.
The Lancaster Barnstormers would not relinquish the lead as the Sugar Land Skeeters were unable to weather a five-run seventh inning deficit.
The Sugar Land Skeeters scored on a solo home run by Josh Pressley in the eighth inning and a three-run double by Ofilio Castro in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the Sugar Land Skeeters couldn't get over the hump.
Blake Gailen had two extra-base hits for the Lancaster Barnstormers. He homered in the first inning, singled in the fourth inning, and doubled in the seventh inning.
Dwayne Pollok's six strikeouts helped the Lancaster Barnstormers to the victory. Pollok allowed two earned runs on five hits and one walk over seven innings.
Jason Lane (4-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked none and struck out four.
