The Bridgeport Bluefish take out the Long Island Ducks with help from Rogers, 10-5

Eddie Rogers had two extra base hits, helping the Bridgeport Bluefish (33-39) to a 10-5 victory over the Long Island Ducks (39-32) on Saturday at Harbor Yard.

He singled in the first and second innings, homered in the sixth inning, and doubled in the eighth inning.

Reid Gorecki was solid at the plate for the Long Island Ducks. Gorecki went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.

Dan Serafini got his third win for the Bridgeport Bluefish despite allowing five runs over six innings. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered six hits.

Bob Zimmermann ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out two.

The Bridgeport Bluefish's Rogers, Luis Rodriguez, Brock Peterson and James Simmons combined for 11 hits and nine RBIs.
