The Utica (11-11) outlasted the Sherrill (7-13) on Friday after four lead changes, squeaking out a 7-6 win at Donovan Stadium.

The Utica finally managed to grab the lead after a strong eighth inning. A groundout by Jesse Pintado scored Blaine Tanner and gave the Utica the lead for good.

Stephen Dezzi racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Utica. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Dylan Reid handled the Sherrill's lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. The Utica's pitcher gave up just three hits over three shutout innings.

Tyler Murphy improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Utica. Murphy struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.

Jesus Hernandez ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
