A five-run explosion in the seventh inning lifted the Sherrill (12-18) to an 8-2 win over the GEN Red Wings (10-18) at McDonough Park on Saturday.
Byron Campbell reached base four times in the game for the Sherrill. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the third and ninth innings.
Mike Meleski struck out nine, paving the way for a the Sherrill win. Meleski allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks over 6 2/3 innings.
Aaron Benusis (2-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed two runs.
