An awesome effort by Eric Baker spurred the Adirondack (4-2) to a 15-5 win in six innings over the Sherrill (3-4) on Saturday at Robert Smith Sports Complex .
Baker racked up six RBIs on two hits for the Adirondack. He homered in the first and second innings.
The Adirondack blew out the Sherrill thanks to 10 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Adirondack scored six runs in the sixth on a two-run double by Bobby McLaughlin, a two-run home run by Johann Knee, and a sacrifice fly by Baker.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to eight lead changes in the game.
The Adirondack took the lead in the fifth inning and held on for the victory. A three-run error scored Kevin Hix, McLaughlin and Hix and gave the Adirondack the lead for good.
The Sherrill's lineup had no answer for Mike Muglia. Muglia held the Sherrill hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.
Corbin Stykemain got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Stykemain struck out one, walked one and gave up no hits.
Hayden Hibberd was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
The Adirondack pounded the Sherrill pitching, as seven hitters combined for nine hits, 14 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
