The Utica (3-3) outlasted the SYR Salt Cats (1-5) on Sunday after seven lead changes, squeaking out a 4-3 win at LeMoyne College Field.

Eros Modena was solid at the plate for the Utica. Modena went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third and fifth innings.

David Fenstermaker got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Fenstermaker struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

Kyle Cushman ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
