The Sherrill's Van Boom comes through in the clutch, upends the Syracuse SC, 7-3

Wesley Van Boom drove in the go-ahead run to give the Sherrill (3-4) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Sherrill hung on to beat the Syracuse SC (1-5) 7-3 on Sunday.

Bryon Campbell singled to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a single by Mike Weakley. Finally, Van Boom came to the plate with the score tied at three, and singled, scoring Campbell and Campbell.

Van Boom was solid at the plate for the Sherrill. Van Boom went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the sixth and seventh innings.

The Sherrill were led by Weakley's hitting. Weakley went 3-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the first, sixth, and seventh innings.

Jordan Doroshenko shut down the Syracuse SC while he was on the mound. Doroshenko held the Syracuse SC hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out none.

John Mildner was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
