Zach Lauricella brought home the winning run to give the SYR JR Chiefs (17-4) the lead in the sixth inning, as the SYR JR Chiefs hung on to beat the SYR Salt Cats (9-16) 10-6 on Friday.

Frank Salerno to start the sixth. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Riley Moonan. Finally, Lauricella came to the plate with the score tied at six, and doubled, scoring Salerno and Tim Locastro.

Lauricella racked up three RBIs on two hits for the SYR JR Chiefs. He homered in the third inning and doubled in the sixth innings.

JD Tyler had an impressive outing against the SYR Salt Cats' lineup. The SYR Salt Cats managed just four hits off of the the SYR JR Chiefs' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his five innings of work.

Mike Lalonde couldn't get it done on the rubber for the SYR Salt Cats, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked five and struck out two.
