The Niagara's offense erupts for 14 runs in blowout victory over the Olean

The Niagara (13-14) continued to pile up the runs on Sunday, scoring three runs in the last three innings, en route to an easy 14-2 win over the Olean (16-11) at St. Bonaventure.

The Niagara scored seven runs in the sixth on an error, an error, an RBI single by Jamon Hammel, an RBI single by Hammel, a groundout by Ryan Jordan, and a two-run double by Ryan Kiesel.

Even in defeat, Mike Scarello played well for the Olean.

Scarello reached base two times in the game for the Olean. He singled in the third inning.

Scarello brought the heat against the Niagara during his outing. Scarello held the Niagara hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Neil DeCook led the Niagara's offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first and sixth innings.

Jonathan Knapp looked sharp on the mound. The Olean managed just three hits off of the the Niagara's pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked two and struck out one during his 6 2/3 innings of work.

Zach Machmer couldn't get it done on the bump for the Olean, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.
