The Olean fight back, defeat the Wellsville, 21-17

Down 13 runs in the fifth, the Olean (13-8) recovered thanks to Pat Welsh's single in the eighth, and pulled out a 21-17 win over the Wellsville (9-15) on Saturday at Wellsville Central.

With the Olean trailing by one in the eighth inning, Welsh came to the plate and singled, scoring Brad Rush.

Welsh racked up two RBIs on four hits for the Olean. He singled in the first, fifth, and eighth innings and tripled in the ninth inning.

Stephan Adams racked up six RBIs on two hits for the Olean. He homered in the fifth and seventh innings.

The two teams combined for 38 runs and 41 hits, including zero extra base hits.

Montana Timmons racked up five RBIs on five hits for the Wellsville. He doubled in the second and third innings, homered in the fourth inning, and singled in the first and sixth innings.

David Spaeder got his second win for the Olean despite allowing 17 runs over nine innings. Spaeder struck out five, walked four and gave up 19 hits.

Henry Johnson (1-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
