Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

Sears gives the Niagara late push to beat the Olean, 7-6

Story by Narrative Science.

Taylor Sears brought home the go-ahead run to give the Niagara (3-3) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Niagara hung on to beat the Olean (7-3) 7-6 on Thursday.

With the Niagara trailing by one in the eighth inning, Sears came to the plate and reached on an error, plating Chane Lynch.

The Niagara were led by Lynch's hitting. Lynch went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fifth, seventh, and eighth innings.

The Olean's lineup had no answer for Jordan Powell. Powell held the Olean hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Seth Heck had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first and fourth innings.

Jon Kemmer couldn't get it done on the hill for the Olean, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
