The Olean survive the Wellsville 3-2 thanks to Rufer's late-game heroics

Kyle Rufer drove in the winning run to give the Olean (7-2) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Olean hung on to beat the Wellsville (3-7) 3-2 on Wednesday.

Adam Urchel singled to start the seventh. He then went from second to third on a groundout by Brian Dixon. Finally, Rufer came to the plate with the score tied at two, and reached on an error, scoring Urchel.

Brandon Nemeti's seven strikeouts were enough to push the Olean past the Wellsville. Nemeti allowed two earned runs on three hits and five walks over six innings.

Anthony Galan (1-2) took the loss for the Wellsville. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
