The Sugar Land Skeeters (27-38) built an early edge on Tuesday, but the Bridgeport Bluefish (28-37) roared back to steal a 3-1 victory at Harbor Yard.
While the Sugar Land Skeeters led until the fifth inning, the Bridgeport Bluefish worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Prentice Redman.
Brock Peterson reached base three times in the game for the Bridgeport Bluefish. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the fourth inning.
The Bridgeport Bluefish relied on Dan Serafini to eat up innings en route to the win. Serafini pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks while striking out two.
Jason Lane had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the third and sixth innings.
Heath Phillips ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
