Brandon Sing brought home the winning run to give the Long Island Ducks (37-24) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Long Island Ducks hung on to beat the Sugar Land Skeeters (26-36) 2-1 on Saturday.
With the score tied at one in the eighth inning, Sing came to the plate and homered.Sing put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Long Island Ducks. He doubled in the third inning and homered in the eighth inning.
The Sugar Land Skeeters' lineup had no answer for Jason Monti. The Sugar Land Skeeters managed just one hit off of Monti, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out four during his six innings of work.
Steve Moss did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Sugar Land Skeeters, reaching base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the fifth inning.
