The Long Island Ducks cruise past the York Revolution, 17-3

Story by Narrative Science.

The York Revolution (15-19) didn't put up much of a fight on Saturday, as the Long Island Ducks (22-13) cruised to a blowout 17-3 win at Bethpage Ballpark.

The Long Island Ducks scored seven runs in the sixth on a two-run single by Ray Navarrete, a two-run single by Shawn Williams, an RBI double by Reid Gorecki, , and a sacrifice fly by Bryant Nelson.

Navarrete had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.

The York Revolution had no answer for Jason Monti, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The York Revolution managed just two hits off of Monti, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his six innings of work.

Yunior Novoa ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked one and struck out four.

The Long Island Ducks easily handled the York Revolution pitching as six hitters combined for 15 hits, 14 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
