An eight-run explosion in the third inning carried the Long Island Ducks (18-10) to a 15-5 win over the Bridgeport Bluefish (16-13) at Bethpage Ballpark on Saturday.

James McOwen racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Long Island Ducks. He homered in the third inning, tripled in the sixth inning, and singled in the seventh inning.

Pedro Lopez did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Bridgeport Bluefish, reaching base four times. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He singled in the fifth inning.

Bob Zimmermann got his third win for the Long Island Ducks despite allowing five runs over five innings. Zimmermann struck out three, walked five and gave up seven hits.

Raymar Diaz (0-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
