Both the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (24-21) and the Pittsfield Suns (25-22) put runners aboard on Friday, but it was the Marthas Vineyard Sharks that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 6-2 win at Vineyard Baseball Park.

Tad Gold did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks, reaching base two times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the sixth innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the Pittsfield Suns' Travis Smith. Smith went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the second and fourth innings and doubled in the sixth inning.

Ryan Brockett got the win, running his season record to 3-2. He allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings. Brockett struck out five, walked two and gave up seven hits.

Jason Condit was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
