The Regina Red Sox fight back, defeat the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets, 7-5

The Regina Red Sox (33-10) trailed by five in the fourth, but the Regina Red Sox recovered thanks to a key single in the eighth inning from Jeremy Donaldson to pull out a 7-5 win over the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets (18-24) at Cairns Field, Saskatoon, SK on Thursday.

With the score tied at five, Donaldson came to the plate and singled, plating Randy Ramirez.

Donaldson was solid at the plate for the Regina Red Sox. Donaldson went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second, seventh, and eighth innings.

Geoff MacDonald racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Regina Red Sox. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Jordan Chiero was hot from the plate for the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets. Chiero went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Barrett Nielsen improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Regina Red Sox. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered one hit.

Steven Latos ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
