The Medicine Hat Mavericks cruise past the Edmonton Prospects, 18-2

The Medicine Hat Mavericks (24-12) pounded the Edmonton Prospects (6-28) on Tuesday 18-2 at Athletic Park.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks scored six runs in the eighth on a hit by pitch, a three-run single by Reid Fischer, a solo home run by Garrett Wiese, a sacrifice fly by Bubba Dotson, and an RBI single by Ben Schubert.

Grant Silva racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He singled in the first and seventh innings.

The Edmonton Prospects couldn't get anything going as long as Kenton Schroter was pitching. The Edmonton Prospects managed just two hits off of the the Medicine Hat Mavericks' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his three innings of work.

Markus Fergusson paced the Edmonton Prospects at the plate. Fergusson went 3-4 and scored one run. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fifth and eighth innings.

Billy Martin improved to 6-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He allowed one run over six innings. Martin struck out four, walked none and gave up eight hits.

Stinson Ott (1-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 10 runs in six innings, walked four and struck out three.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks easily handled the Edmonton Prospects pitching as six hitters combined for 15 hits, 13 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
