The Melville Millionaires (20-18) beat the Yorkton Cardinals (12-27) 9-6 on Friday at Pirie Field behind Bryson Thionnet, who had two extra base hits.

He singled in the first and fifth innings, homered in the sixth inning, and doubled in the eighth inning.

The Yorkton Cardinals couldn't get anything going as long as Zachary Hobbs was on the mound. Hobbs held the Yorkton Cardinals hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Liam Goodall got on base four times in the game for the Yorkton Cardinals. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the second and fourth innings.

Corey Thompson put together a nice outing. Thompson held the Melville Millionaires hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Nathan Kirby got the win, running his season record to 2-2. He allowed two runs over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered four hits.

Michael McCue (0-3) took the loss for the Yorkton Cardinals. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.

The Melville Millionaires were sparked by Thionnet and Campbell Cooper, who teamed up for seven hits and four RBIs.
