A nine-run explosion in the first inning led the Okotoks Dawgs (4-3) to a 15-7 win over the Edmonton Prospects (1-6) at Seaman Stadium on Saturday.

Tyler Hollick racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Okotoks Dawgs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the first inning.

Connor Russell recorded his first win for the Okotoks Dawgs even though he allowed five runs over five innings. He struck out eight, walked one and surrendered six hits.

Corey Gilligan (0-2) took the loss for the Edmonton Prospects. He allowed nine runs in one-third of an inning, walked none and struck out none.

The Okotoks Dawgs pounded the Edmonton Prospects pitching, as seven hitters combined for 14 hits, 11 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
