The Keene Swamp Bats (9-3) beat the Vermont Mountaineers (6-8) 3-2 on Saturday at Montpelier Recreation Field behind Frankie Schwindel, who collected three hits.

Kyle Gehrs shut down the Vermont Mountaineers while he was on the mound. The Vermont Mountaineers managed just one hit off of the the Keene Swamp Bats' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Michael White was hot from the plate for the Vermont Mountaineers. White went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.

Joe Pistorese improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Keene Swamp Bats. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered five hits.

Brad Schnelle ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
