The New Bedford Bay Sox (24-14) didn't put up much of a fight on Monday, as the Newport Gulls (26-9) cruised to a blowout 15-5 win at Cardines Field.

The Newport Gulls scored four runs in the eighth on , a double by John Norwood, an RBI single by Joel McKeithan, a fielder's choice, and a single by Steve Anderson.

Kasey Coffman racked up five RBIs on three hits for the Newport Gulls. He singled in the first inning, homered in the second inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.

Jon Prosinski got the win for the Newport Gulls thanks to three strikeouts. Prosinski allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk over five innings.

Donald Murray was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out six.
