An ace performance by Jacob Johansen lifted the West Virginia Miners (37-17) to a 5-2 win over the Chillicothe Paints (33-24) on Friday at Linda K. Epling Stadium.

Johansen's 12 strikeouts were enough to push the West Virginia Miners past the Chillicothe Paints. Johansen allowed one earned run, two hits and four walks over eight innings.

Gray Stafford racked up two RBIs on two hits for the West Virginia Miners. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.

J.T. Miller couldn't get it done on the mound for the Chillicothe Paints, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
