The West Virginia Miners (18-8) continued to pile up the runs on Wednesday, scoring three runs in the last three innings, on the way to a 13-3 landslide win over the Lorain County Ironmen (7-19) at Linda K. Epling Stadium.
The West Virginia Miners scored five runs in the second on an error, a solo home run by Gray Stafford, a hit by pitch, a double by Joesph Williams, and a double by John Sprik.
Stafford racked up three RBIs on three hits for the West Virginia Miners.
Jacob Johansen struck out nine hitters en route to the the West Virginia Miners win. Johansen allowed two earned runs, five hits and three walks over six innings.
It was a good day at the plate for the Lorain County Ironmen's Michael Burke. Burke went 3-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the third and sixth innings and homered in the ninth inning.
Eric Knight (2-4) took the loss for the Lorain County Ironmen. He allowed 10 runs in five innings, walked none and struck out three.
