The Lorain County Ironmen (2-3) had a tough outing on Sunday, as the West Virginia Miners (5-1) dominated in a 9-0 win at Linda K. Epling Stadium.

A three-run single by Luke Meeteer helped the West Virginia Miners score three runs in the eighth. The West Virginia Miners had two hits in the inning.

Bradley Strong had two extra-base hits for the West Virginia Miners. He doubled in the first and third innings.

Joe Church brought the heat against the Lorain County Ironmen during his outing. The Lorain County Ironmen managed just one hit off of Church, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Pat Shedlock got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Adam Beach ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
