The Danville Dans get on top of the Terre Haute Rex early but can't hang on in 4-3 loss

The Danville Dans (10-24) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 4-3 to the Terre Haute Rex (19-14) on Friday.

While the Danville Dans led until the eighth inning, the Terre Haute Rex worked their way back and took the lead on a solo home run by Michael Schroeder.

Brian Norwood reached base three times. He singled in the fourth inning and tripled in the sixth inning.

The Danville Dans had no answer for Nick Blount, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Blount held the Danville Dans hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

John Oltman improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Terre Haute Rex. Oltman struck out one, walked two and gave up no hits.

Houston Hibberd was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just eight innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
