An awesome effort by Jake Bergren hoisted the Springfield Sliders (13-21) to a 16-12 win over the Dubois County Bombers (22-11) on Friday at Robin Roberts Field.

Bergren racked up six RBIs on two hits for the Springfield Sliders. He homered in the first and sixth innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 28 total runs and 29 hits during the game. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using eight pitchers in total.

The Springfield Sliders got their bats going early, scoring seven runs in the first inning to pull ahead of the Dubois County Bombers.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to four lead changes in the game.

David Frank recorded his first win of the year for the Springfield Sliders. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Nelson Marchan was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
