Justin Pearson collected three hits, helping the Richmond RiverRats (21-16) to a 5-1 victory over the Slippery Rock Sliders (11-26) on Monday at Jack Critchfield Park.
He doubled in the third innings and singled in the fifth and ninth innings.Patrick Van Daalwyk's seven strikeouts helped the Richmond RiverRats to the victory. Van Daalwyk allowed no earned runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings.
The Richmond RiverRats couldn't get anything going as long as Zack Walsh was on the mound. The Richmond RiverRats managed just two hits off of the the Slippery Rock Sliders' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his three innings of work.
Ben Rawding was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
