Gray Stafford racked up three RBIs on four hits for the West Virginia Miners. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the first, eighth, and ninth innings.
Jacob Johansen picked up the win for the West Virginia Miners. Johansen pitched nine innings and allowed three earned runs, eight hits and two walks while striking out six.
Ryan Abernathy was solid at the plate for the Slippery Rock Sliders. Abernathy went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the eighth inning.
Luis Flores was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked three and struck out one.
The West Virginia Miners easily handled the Slippery Rock Sliders pitching as seven hitters combined for 19 hits, 11 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
