The Slippery Rock Sliders (6-14) beat the West Virginia Miners (13-8) 6-4 on Thursday at Jack Critchfield Park behind Pat Guinane, who had two extra base hits.

He doubled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Max Deering had an impressive outing against the West Virginia Miners' lineup. The West Virginia Miners managed just two hits off of Deering, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his five innings of work.

Gray Stafford racked up three RBIs on two hits for the West Virginia Miners. He homered in the third inning.

Jared Messer pitched lights out for the West Virginia Miners. The Slippery Rock Sliders managed just one hit off of the the West Virginia Miners' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his three innings of work.
