Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as the Richmond RiverRats (19-16) outscored the Slippery Rock Sliders (11-24) 14-12.

The two teams combined for 27 hits in the game.

The Richmond RiverRats staved off the Slippery Rock Sliders as the Slippery Rock Sliders were unable to match the Richmond RiverRats down the stretch.

The Slippery Rock Sliders scored three runs in the ninth on two solo blasts. Despite their efforts, the Slippery Rock Sliders couldn't finish the comeback.

Garrett Ruckel racked up six RBIs on two hits for the Richmond RiverRats. He homered in the third inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Peter Spear got his third win for the Richmond RiverRats despite allowing six runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

Jesse Mowen was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out none.
