The Slippery Rock Sliders fight back, defeat the Lorain County Ironmen, 9-7

The Slippery Rock Sliders (8-16) trailed by six in the third, but the Slippery Rock Sliders recovered thanks to a key double in the seventh inning from Derek Peake to pull out a 9-7 win over the Lorain County Ironmen (7-17) at The Pipe Yard on Sunday.

With the score tied at seven in the seventh inning, Peake came to the plate and doubled.

Peake racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Slippery Rock Sliders. He singled in the fourth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.

The Lorain County Ironmen had no answer for Josh Tinnon, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Lorain County Ironmen managed just one hit off of Tinnon, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out one during his three innings of work.

It was a good day at the plate for the Lorain County Ironmen's Sam Alvis. Alvis went 2-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning.

Dan Poskocil (0-2) took the loss for the Lorain County Ironmen. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
