The West Virginia Miners fend off the Lorain County Ironmen's late push, hold on 5-3

The Lorain County Ironmen (4-5) weren't able to come back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the West Virginia Miners (8-2), and the Lorain County Ironmen lost 5-3 to the West Virginia Miners after falling behind by three runs in the fourth inning.

The Lorain County Ironmen scored on an RBI double by Scott White in the fourth inning and a sacrifice fly by Ryan Wonders in the seventh inning. Despite their efforts, the Lorain County Ironmen couldn't get over the hump.

Bradley Strong led the West Virginia Miners' offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He tripled in the fourth inning and singled in the second and sixth innings.

Cody Koch paced the Lorain County Ironmen at the plate. Koch went 3-4 and drove in one. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and eighth innings.

Joe Candelmo got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered six hits.

Adam Beach (0-2) took the loss for the Lorain County Ironmen. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
