The Quincy Gems (31-23) failed to take advantage of great day from Charlie Kapala on Tuesday, losing 4-3 to the Hannibal Cavemen (28-26) at Clemens Field.

Kapala handled the Hannibal Cavemen's lineup with ease, racking up 11 strikeouts. Kapala allowed no earned runs on two hits and three walks over eight innings.

Taylor Kaufman delivered a clutch walk off the bench in the four. His pinch-hit was the key moment in the Hannibal Cavemen's one-run win.

The Hannibal Cavemen held off the Quincy Gems, as the Quincy Gems were unable to overcome a four-run fourth inning deficit.

The Quincy Gems scored three runs in the seventh on a three-run home run by Michael Gunn. Still, the Quincy Gems couldn't catch the Hannibal Cavemen.

Dylan Terrell recorded his fifth win of the year for the Hannibal Cavemen. Terrell struck out three, walked two and gave up eight hits.

Kapala couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Quincy Gems, taking a loss.
