The Dubois County Bombers (22-12) didn't stand a chance on Saturday, as the Quincy Gems (21-14) captured a blowout 13-6 win at League Stadium.
The Quincy Gems scored four runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Zach George, a groundout by Drew Carlile, and a two-run single by Nick Day.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with five lead changes.
Nick Moore racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Quincy Gems. He doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the fifth inning, and tripled in the ninth inning.
Charlie Kapala improved to 5-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Quincy Gems. He allowed four runs over five innings. Kapala struck out five, walked five and gave up three hits.
Ty Simpson was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
