A superb effort by Evan Powell hoisted the Danville Dans (13-30) to a 7-4 win over the Terre Haute Rex (25-17) on Wednesday at Danville Stadium.
Powell blasted two home runs for the Danville Dans. Powell went 2-3 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Powell homered in the first, first, and fifth innings.
The Danville Dans came out swinging, scoring five runs in the first inning to jump ahead of the Terre Haute Rex early.
Max Homick's nine strikeouts were enough to push the Danville Dans past the Terre Haute Rex. Homick allowed no earned runs on seven hits and one walk over seven innings.
Clay Manering (2-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked two and struck out eight.
