James Miglin drove in the go-ahead run to give the Chillicothe Paints (21-14) the lead in the ninth inning, as the Chillicothe Paints hung on to beat the Butler Blue Sox (22-13) 7-6 on Friday.
Aaron Hopper to start the ninth. He then went from first to second on a stolen base. Finally, Miglin came to the plate with the score tied at six, and singled, bringing home Hopper.Miglin had a hot bat for the Chillicothe Paints. Miglin went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the seventh and ninth innings.
Giancarlo Brugnoni put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Chillicothe Paints. He homered in the first inning and doubled in the fourth inning.
A bright spot for the Butler Blue Sox in the defeat was Tim Haley, who allowed only one run while striking out five.
Dan Zuchowski recorded his first win of the year for the Chillicothe Paints. Zuchowski struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.
Haley ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
The Chillicothe Paints' Miglin, Brugnoni, Mike Nadratowski and Kevin Zak combined for eight hits and five RBIs.
