He homered in the second inning and doubled in the seventh inning.J.T. Miller got the win for the Chillicothe Paints thanks to eight strikeouts. Miller allowed one earned run on four hits and no walks over six innings.
The Richmond RiverRats were led by Jake Welch's hitting. Welch went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning.
Peter Spear ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in seven innings, walked five and struck out four.
The Chillicothe Paints' Giancarlo Brugnoni, Ryan Cypret and Hopper combined for five hits and seven RBIs.
