The Chillicothe Paints (1-2) and the Richmond RiverRats (0-3) exchanged the lead nine times on Thursday, but the Chillicothe Paints ended up on top with an 8-5 win over the Richmond RiverRats.

Matt Fisher racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Chillicothe Paints. He singled in the second and third innings and homered in the seventh inning.

The Richmond RiverRats' lineup had no answer for Chris Thomas. Thomas gave up just one hit, allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out four during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Nolan Earley put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Richmond RiverRats. He doubled in the third and fifth innings.

Kyle Tibbs was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 6 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out four.
