Will Blalock drove in the go-ahead run to give the West Virginia Miners (16-8) the lead in the seventh inning, as the West Virginia Miners hung on to beat the Butler Blue Sox (14-10) 6-5 on Sunday.

After Matthew Chavarria singled, Blalock came to the plate with the West Virginia Miners trailing by one, and reached on an error, plating Chavarria.

The West Virginia Miners would not relinquish the lead as the Butler Blue Sox were unable to weather a two-run ninth inning deficit.

The Butler Blue Sox scored one run in the ninth on an RBI triple by Elliott Caldwell. Despite their efforts, the Butler Blue Sox couldn't get over the hump.

Chavarria reached base three times. He singled in the seventh inning.

Kolin Stanley recorded his first win of the year for the West Virginia Miners. Stanley struck out none, walked one and gave up one hit.

David Kucenic couldn't get it done on the hill for the Butler Blue Sox, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
