The Orleans Firebirds offense too much for the Falmouth Commodores in 14-0 rout

The Orleans Firebirds (8-1) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Falmouth Commodores (5-4), recording a 14-0 victory on Saturday at Eldredge Park.

The game was decided quickly as the Orleans Firebirds exerted their will early with 10 runs in the first three innings.

A groundout by Piikea Kitamura, a solo home run by Michael Montville, an RBI single by Cody Kulp, and an RBI single by Max Rossiter during the first inning and a two-run single by Kitamura, a triple by Reed Gragnani, a groundout by Montville, a solo home run by Conrad Gregor, an error, a triple by JT Riddle, and a sacrifice fly by Rossiter in the second inning fueled the Orleans Firebirds' offense early.

Gregor had two extra-base hits for the Orleans Firebirds.

Jarrett Arakawa pitched lights out for the Orleans Firebirds. The Falmouth Commodores managed just two hits off of Arakawa, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his five innings of work.

Benjamin Ballantine was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed 10 runs in two innings, walked none and struck out one.

The Orleans Firebirds hammered the Falmouth Commodores pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 14 hits, eight RBIs and 11 runs scored.
