The Windy City ThunderBolts make the most of 11 hits in 8-5 victory over the Normal CornBelters

Both the Windy City ThunderBolts (31-21) and the Normal CornBelters (17-35) put runners aboard on Tuesday, but it was the Windy City ThunderBolts that were able to take advantage, pulling out an 8-5 win at Standard Bank Stadium.

Brandon Decker put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He homered in the fourth inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and tripled in the seventh inning.

Tyler Wiesemeyer reached base four times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.

Stephen Sauer recorded his fifth win for the Windy City ThunderBolts even though he allowed five runs over five innings. Sauer struck out five, walked one and gave up nine hits.

Tyler Lavigne (3-5) took the loss for the Normal CornBelters. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked five and struck out six.

The Windy City ThunderBolts' Mike Torres, Bob Glover, Chris Wade and Decker combined for eight hits and seven RBIs.
