The London Rippers survive the Rockford RiverHawks rally, escape with 5-3 victory

The Rockford RiverHawks (32-41) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the London Rippers (25-35) on Saturday, as the Rockford RiverHawks fell 5-3 at RiverHawks Stadium after falling behind by three runs in the fifth inning.

The Rockford RiverHawks scored two runs in the fifth on a two-run double by Jet Butler. Despite their efforts, the Rockford RiverHawks couldn't get over the hump.

Clifton Thomas led the London Rippers' offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He singled in the fifth and ninth innings.

The Rockford RiverHawks' Brandon Anderson was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.

Matt Schimpf got the win for the London Rippers. He allowed three runs over six innings. Schimpf struck out none, walked one and gave up eight hits.

Nick Sarianides (1-2) took the loss for the Rockford RiverHawks. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
