Sanders helps the River City Rascals down the Normal CornBelters 6-3

Doug Sanders had two extra base hits, sparking the River City Rascals (24-18) to a 6-3 victory over the Normal CornBelters (15-25) on Monday at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.

He doubled in the first inning, homered in the fourth inning, and singled in the eighth innings.

The Normal CornBelters couldn't get anything going as long as Brandon Cunniff was pitching. The Normal CornBelters managed just two hits off of the the River City Rascals' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his two innings of work.

Steven Felix racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Normal CornBelters. He homered in the sixth inning.

Preston Vancil recorded his second win of the year for the River City Rascals. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked four and surrendered four hits.

Ryan Krumlauf couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Normal CornBelters, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

The River City Rascals were sparked by Sanders and Jeremy Synan, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.
