Three first-inning runs helped the Normal CornBelters (24-52) to a 7-3 win over the Washington Wild Things (33-42) at The Corn Crib on Thursday.

A three-run home run by Ernie Banks Jr. delivered the runs in the first. The Normal CornBelters had two hits in the inning.

Banks Jr. racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Normal CornBelters.

Ross Davis pitched lights out for the Normal CornBelters. The Washington Wild Things managed just two hits off of Davis, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Darian Sandford did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Washington Wild Things, reaching base three times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the fourth innings.

Casey Barnes couldn't get it done on the bump for the Washington Wild Things, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
