The Lake Erie Crushers defeat the Road Warriors after late game single, 6-3

The Lake Erie Crushers (49-37) took the last of five lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Road Warriors (7-19), securing a 6-3 victory on Wednesday at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Russell Moldenhauer went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the Lake Erie Crushers. He singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

The Road Warriors couldn't get anything going as long as Randy Sturgill was on the mound. Sturgill held the Road Warriors hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Despite the loss, the Road Warriors' Sheng-An Kuo dominated the Lake Erie Crushers' batters, giving up two runs and striking out eight.

Travis Risser improved to 6-4 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Erie Crushers. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Stephen Corbett (0-1) took the loss for the Road Warriors. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
