Four first-inning runs helped the Lake Erie Crushers (41-32) to a 6-5 win over the London Rippers (25-35) at All Pro Freight Stadium on Thursday.
Andrew Davis racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He homered in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
Even though Eric Gonzalez-Diaz allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his sixth of the season. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered eight hits.
Eric Katzman (1-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out three.
